I bought one a couple of years ago to replace a faulty out of the box DVD R/RW combo drive in a Dell 4500 a couple years ago, even got the warranty out of it too, and its still a faulty drive. Then I replaced the same type of drive in an even older Dell 4100 with one of these, and both are still working like they were brand new. Both the drives were piece of crap Samsungs that came out of those computers. (Not that Im saying Samsung is bad, its just those drives) I like it so much I bought a third to put into a home brew PC that I built, works like a dream.
